Mrs. Stephanie R. Alexander

Mrs. Stephanie R. Alexander, a Jennings High School alum has served as the Director of Federal Programs and Personnel for the Jennings School District since August, 2008 and an employee with the district for the past 21 years. Earning a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and Masters degree from Webster University in St. Louis, MO, she is educationally prepared for the role which she now serves. Prior to beginning a career in education, Mrs. Alexander worked for the May Company, now Macy's and while completing her Master's degree interned under the former Director of EEOC for Emerson. She has been an integral part in the creation of a formalized the HR department in Jennings which has formerly been in existence since July 2007.
One of the attributes Mrs. Alexander brings to Jennings is ability to effectively identify and retain quality candidates to meet the needs of urban schools. "People are my business and understanding that building authentic relationships with staff members in the HR role is important to the success of the district" says Mrs. Alexander. She is currently in her third term as President of MOASPA-STL for the 2019-2020 school year and has previously served on the scholarship selection committee as member and scholarship chair. Mrs. Alexander also is a leader at the state level, serving as board member since November 2016 and is currently the recording secretary for MOASPA. She has been a presenter at both MOASPA and MOASBO state conferences. On the national stage Mrs. Alexander is a member of AASPA (American Association of School Personnel Administrators) and has presented at the 2016 national convention and as well as facilitated a monthly webinar. Mrs. Alexander is currently the Region 5 member the minority caucus board, and has served on the scholarship, recognition committees within AASPA as well. Her passion for urban schools, HR knowledge and skill make her an asset to the Jennings community and urban school districts. She is a Warrior at heart and is very passionate about the students, staff and community she serves in Jennings. One of the greatest rewards she has had in her role over the last 12 years is being apart of the great transformation in our schools and community showing continuous improvement in student achievement and changing the lives of the families that we serve in positive ways. Mrs. Alexander spends time with her heartbeats (family) away from work and is a proud wife, mother of 5 and grandmother of 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson.
